What's your favorite genre of music? Favorite artist or band? Speak speak speak! :D

I'll start.

My favorites fluxuate all the time. I'm currently into a Blues/Jazz mood. I've been listening to a lot of Eric Clapton, BB King, and Otis Reddiing. Clapton and King are by far my favorite guitarists ever. Otis Reddings songs are so full of life and are just bliss!

Uh... I like goth/black metal, techno (i'm a techno freak, i could say(or i used to be one). I also enjoy normal rock and jazz.

Lately, I've been listening a lot to Gorgoroth and Genitorturers...

I think my favorite bands/artists would be Nightwish, Marilyn Manson, and Dimmu Borgir.

My favorite genre of music is metal. As for the sub-genres, I love death, black, gothic, sludge, gore metal. Im also into some industrial, death rock, ebm and so on. My favorite band right now is Vasaria which falls into the gothic metal genre. I love its lyrics which makes me realize the unnameble. I like Impaled,The Hunted. !!!!!! Cinema Strange is a great death rock band!!!!
Cant forget Dance or die.

Well said. :]

I don't have a definite genre that I like, but I do tend to lean towards "alternative rock" at times. o_O

As for the bands I like... My current obsession is The Mars Volta. Just can't get enough of De-loused in the Comatorium and L'via L'viaquez (from Frances the Mute.)

I also have a thing for Finnish rock bands/artists. I'm in love with HIM, The Rasmus, Apocalyptica, the 69 Eyes, To Die For, etc. (Quick note: My liking HIM has absolutely nothing to do with Bam Margera. <_<")

And... etc. =d

My music preferences fluctuate almost as often as my moods...but I like some of most everything...preferences usually run to metal, rock, etc...you know, the kind of stuff they play here and some other stuff. lol.

as long as it doesn't twang, there's a good chance i'll listen to it.
just give me a minute, i'm thinking...

Well now that I understand that you mean country
there is only one artist that I would consider and that is
The Man in Black of course.

Here's one of my more favorite pics of him. :)

Here's one of the songs that put him on my only country artist list.

25 Minutes To Go:
Johnny Cash.

Written by Shel Silverstein.
(© Hollis Music Inc.)
From "At Folsom Prison", © 1968, Columbia.

Well, they're buildin' a gallows outside my cell.
And I've got 25 minutes to go.
And the whole town's waitin' just to hear me yell.
I got 24 minutes to go.

Well, they give me some beans for my last meal.
With 23 minutes to go.
But nobody asked me how I feel.
I got 22 minutes to go.

Well, I sent for the governor and the whole durned bunch,
With 21 minutes to go.
An' I called up the Mayor, but he's out to lunch.
I got 20 more minutes to go.

Then the Sheriff said: "Boy, I'm gonna watch you die."
With nineteen minutes to go.
So I laughed in his face and I spit in his eye.
With eighteen minutes to go.

Now here comes the preacher for to save my soul,
With thirteen minutes to go.
An' he's talkin' 'bout burnin' but I'm so cold.
Twelve more minutes to go.

Well, they're testin' the trap and it chills my spine.
Eleven more minutes to go.
An' the trap an' the rope, ah, they work just fine.
With ten more minutes to go.

Well, I'm waitin' for the pardon that'll set me free.
With nine more minutes to go.
But this ain't the movies, so forget about me.
Eight more minutes to go.

With my feet on the trap an' my head in the noose.
Five more minutes to go.
Won't somebody come an' cut me loose.
Four more minutes to go.

I can see the mountains, I can see the sky.
With three more minutes to go.
And it's too durned pretty for a man to wanna die.
Two more minutes to go

I can see the buzzards, I can hear the crows.
One more minute to go.
And now I'm swingin' and here I go oh oh oh oh oh.

Now come on a man dressed in all black singing about being hung to death? I think Type O should do a cover.

ok, there are a couple of his songs that I don't mind. And for the most part, my definition of country music does not include some songs. Bird of Paradise, Harper Valley PTA, Battle of New Orleans...those kinds of songs, tho sold as country classics, I like. Some any way...what I call country are things like...umm...Toby Keith...Shania Twain....that guy who did...Achy Breaky Heart...god that was a horrible song...stuff like that.

*Tool puts on his Ten Gallon hat (black of course)*

I’d like to sing you all a little song that I wrote between here and the curtain.
It’s called……

It Sucks to be Country

I was crying in my beer as I put my last quarter in the juke box.
Then I got into my old Ford pick up in the rain.
Gona drive on down south to see her.
And visit my momma in prison again.
Life’s hard when your daddy’s your brother.
Life’s rough when you got two first names.
Life’s tough when your best friends a coon dog.
Life sucks when your banjo breaks a string.
I was crying in my beer as I put my last quarter in the juke box.
Then I got into my old Ford pick up in the rain.
Gona drive on down south to see her.
And visit my momma in prison again.

Hank you………..hank you very much.
