I've recently discovered modern-ish metal and rock in a big way. Disturbed is great, Fear Factory's okay, and I like Eluveitie (which is folk metal; they're awesome). Shinedown's not half-bad.

I do believe that most people can't answer this in a short paragraph.
I can't. But I can tell you which direction I travel in.

Start with country music (I grew up on it, still listen to it, not complaints Atnevon!) -- goes into some rock/pop then into metal and then just went nuts.

I got everything from Alabama to Weird Al to Lacuna Coil to Nightwish and about as much inbetween as I care to fill in with.

I guess like many, it depends on my mood or what catches my interest.
I even listened to KanYe West a couple times, and I hate rap/r&b, etc.

I'll listen to most anything and don't really subscribe to a particular band for the most part; there are a few that I like (mentioned above). Disturbed is fucking awesome, while Eluveitie is a close second despite the obvious differences in the sound. Mostly I listen song-by-song, not artist-by-artist. I'd kill to see Disturbed or Eluveitie live, though.

I listen to so much - and it depends on my mood. I've never gotten used to appreciating death metal yet and the like. Maybe one day though. I've got an open mind.

If I like it I like it. From classical to New age to Pop to Metal to whatever.

Is this Eluveitie?

I've personally broadened my horizons quite a bit myself as well, but right now I've been listening to alot of Folk Metal
like Alestorm and Tyr (I didn't really spell Tyr properly, but I don't know how to make the Y where it's got an accent above it. *shame*)

Ya know, I have a lot of my friends, who are all hardened Metal-Heads like me ask me "What the fuck is wrong with you? Listening to shit like In Flames? That is not real metal." Well, I love melodic metal, It puts me in this trance, and takes me far away, much like Beethoven with his more agressive symphonies

Is that so bad? I am at one with the darkness.
I walk the path of Darkness, people say I'm evil for it, I say they are wrong.
Light and Dark by themselves are neutral entities, sure good generally chooses the light, while evil generally chooses the dark. However, it is not the path you walk, but how you walk it. It is not the power you weild, but how you weild it.

Aqua? Man, I have'nt seen an Aqua fan in....... forever, i thought Aqua was more or less gone. My sister LOVED them and i admit, though it shames me, Candy Man and My Oh My were'nt bad at all.

To single it down to a couple of bands would be impossible for me. Since my favourit bands change every week or so.
At the moment I quite like:

Skindred
Dub War
Amanda Palmer
Faith No More
Vermillion Lies

Oh and I have been listening to alot of Debussy lately.

I go for any genre except R&B because its not the original rhythm and blues; however I am slowly getting in to rap as long as it has a good backing.
