If you enjoy Lovecraft I'd strongly suggest Brian Lumley as well. He's written a few things that branch out from HPL's mythos you'd likely enjoy, namely the Titus Crow series as well as his new series called Tales of the Primal Land.

If you're reading old books and authors, try "Beloved" by Toni Morrison.
I walk the path of Darkness, people say I'm evil for it, I say they are wrong.
Light and Dark by themselves are neutral entities, sure good generally chooses the light, while evil generally chooses the dark. However, it is not the path you walk, but how you walk it. It is not the power you weild, but how you weild it.

I'd say Poe is probably the best, but that's just my opinion. *Shrug.* I always liked the Raven, as does pretty much anyone else that knows its writer, but I also like The Tell-Tale Heart. Actually, the latter is my favorite of his.

We're all born the same way: wet, cold, and screaming; life is just as messy as death.
We all eat, drink, piss, shit, fuck, and die. Someone mind tellin' me the punch line?
