1) Open Pidgin and go to Accounts -> Manage. (If this is the first time you've used Pidgin and you do not see your contact list window, instead hit the 'Add' button.)



2) Click the 'Add' button, and select 'IRC' as the Protocol type.  For 'Screen Name' enter your preferred nickname (without spaces), and for server enter 'irc.webchat.org' in the box.  Leave all other fields empty and then select 'Save' at the bottom of the window.



3) On the Accounts window, make sure that there is a checkmark in the box for 'Enabled' for the server you just added.  Once the account is enabled, hit 'Close'.



4) From your contact list window, go to Buddies -> Join a Chat.



5) Enter '#darksites.com' for the channel name, and leave the password field blank, then hit 'Join'.



6) Chat and Enjoy :)
