Podcast Interview and Chat Series

Our Band Interview Podcast series is our way of bringing spotlight to some of the bands that we play here on Second Shifters, in a format that allows for listeners to connect more deeply with artists and the music that they play.

Every two weeks we will debut a new interview on air, followed by a chat session with the band we're featuring in our IRC chat room.  For those of you who can't make it for our live broadcast and chat, both the on air interview and the transcripts from the chat will be available for download the next day.

For every interview we conduct, the band will be emailed a series of questions to choose from and instead of emailing back the answers, they will be sending us recordings of their answers to be spliced in between several hand picked songs to go along with the questions.  Aside from recording an intro and closing to the podcast, we will leave ourselves completely out of the final mix in order to give you an experience that is entirely focussed around the band that you are hearing.

We think that it is a great way to get a step closer to the artists behind the music, and with that connection, it makes a world of difference in just how much a song can mean to you personally.

To subscribe to the podcast feed and automatically download the interviews as they are released, just right click on the 'Podcast Feed' link over to the right and copy it to your favorite podcast program, or click the link and let your browser take care of the hard work for you, so long as it supports RSS feeds (IE7, Firefox, etc.).  If you just want to download one interview, or if you don't want to go through the trouble of subscribing to a feed, just keep an eye on our main page for direct MP3 links to our interviews as well.
