Ruined Saint was born on July 15th, 1969... Four hours later, Apollo 11 lifted off for what was to be the first successful Lunar Landing. The world was forever changed, although it will be up to future historians to determine which of these evens had the biggest impact in human affairs.
Originally from Chicago, Ruined has traveled a large chunk of the world. After hanging out in the underground metal-scene in the Midwest, he sailed the South and West Pacific while living in Pearl Harbor and serving in the US Navy. He roamed the West Coast while living in San Francisco. He's explored the South American wilderness. He's hitch hiked the north while following the Grateful Dead. He's managed the financial dealings of one of the world's leading insurance companies. He's helped design and manage some of the most fabulous structures in North America. He's lived in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, while working for the Department of Defense. He's survived Hurricane Charlie in a series of events worthy of a movie deal. And has now settled in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he works as an Architectural Draftsman, designing custom homes for the rich and pampered.
The secret to his success? "I decided that it didn't matter that I was a high school dropout and didn't have a day of college; what mattered is that I could do the job better than anybody else."
His taste in music is just as varied as his history and past. Enjoying Blue Grass, Folk, Country, Blues, Rock, Metal, Goth, New Wave, Techno, Industrial, Dark Wave, Jazz, Punk, and even Hip Hop, his primary concern isn't genre. Rather, while not musically gifted himself, he has an ear for originality and technical finesse, able to pluck bands that are original and innovative from the morass of mass-production entertainment corporations try to spoon-feed the masses.
When realizing that there were large chunks of time available at Second Shifters, and being impressed by the station's commitment to provide a wide selection of music, Ruined immediately seized the opportunity to fill in the time following Water. This was a perfect opportunity given Ruin's location on the North American West Coast, as his evenings are quite a bit later than most of the other DJs.
