It’s Time to Meet the True End.
On Aug 24th 2014 True Blood had it’s last call. I can say I’m sorry to see it go. Like any good show that comes to a close you’ll never satisfy every watcher that’s invested, but all the questions were answered that needed to be, and every character had a sense of closure to their stories – one way or another. I’m proud of the writers for that, and I thank them, anything less would have been a slap in the face. So thank you True Blood for respecting your fans enough to give us that.
For seven years the show produced a story where Vampires no longer hid in the shadows, but were out of the coffin, and a part of every day life.
Familiar elements make up pieces of the True Blood world. Vampires, Werewolves, Fairies and Shapeshifters all have a role to play in this series. It’s the world with a new perspective. At times it was sexy, sometimes horrific – and even gross. Other times it warmed your heart or tickled your funny bone.
I still remember the first time I watched it. I was a few minutes late getting to the episode and by what I fist saw, I thought I had accidentally had entered the wrong channel and selected a weird porn channel by mistake. By everything I could do to check – I had definitely selected the right channel. Clearly that opening had an impact though. I re-wound the station (thank you DVR technology) and started from the beginning. Now I could recognize it as the show I intended to watch.
You can read more about the show, and see the trailer, over on our T.V. True Blood page.
If you haven’t watched the series, give it a try. I’ve never regretted that rewind.
